Did you know that from the day you bring your puppy home, you have a six-week window where you can have the biggest influence on your puppy’s future behaviour?

Your five week mission is to learn the four puppy priorities that will have the biggest positive impact on your puppy’s future behaviour so that you can structure your limited time to do the tasks that are crucial to getting you lasting results.

Shift from struggling to get your dog to listen to having a dog that happily responds the first time you ask even around distractions.

Learn how to teach your dog a variety of tricks such as a hand target, spin, stand (from a sit), paw touch, lie on your side, bow, and more.

The goal for the class is to actively teach your dog that being handled predicts good things so that you can confidently handle your dog at home, and take your dog to the vet or the groomer knowing that your dog will be comfortable with the basic procedures that often must be done to ensure they stay healthy.

Each class will focus on 3 key areas to increase your dog’s comfort with handling:

I’m ready. Learn how to read your dog, and how to empower your dog to say ‘yes, I’m ready’ so that when you, the vet, or your groomer are handling your dog, it is clear to everyone that your dog is comfortable at each step of the interaction.

Those tools aren’t scary! Teach your dog that toenail trimmers, toothbrushes, electric trimmers, brushes, and stethoscopes actually predict good things so that when someone approaches your dog with one of these implements in hand, your dog will be relaxed and confident instead of fearful and running away.

Let’s do this! We will focus on a variety of basic handling procedures such as nail trimming, toothbrushing, mouth, ears and tail handling so that you can learn how to set your dog up for success, how to incorporate practice time into your busy life and at the end of class, enjoy the warm glow that comes from handling a dog that enjoys the procedure.

Our focus is helping you fit practice time into your busy schedule so that you can see progress! 

Continue to build on your dog's desire to come when you call including calling your dog as they are running away from you!  You will also finish the class with a plan in place to solve one of your recall challenges.

Prerequisite:  90 Days to a Well-Behaved Dog or permission from the instructor

Start your nosework journey with a strong foundation class.  Watch as your dog discovers the desire and fun in hunting with you as your positively reinforce your dog’s natural desire to hunt with something that your dog loves such as yummy food or a special toy.

The sport of nosework is great for building your dogs confidence, even in the most timid dogs. It also provides the mental exercise of searching and problem-solving which may help to calm down the more energetic or reactive dogs. It is also an amazing sport that will develop a positive working relationship between you and your dog as you “hunt” together as a team.

Take your foundation skills out into the real-world.  This class will help you put those skills into practice where it matters; on a walk, enjoying a latte in an outdoor café, ignoring distractions in the environment, chilling in the park and other scenarios.

Prerequisite:  90 Days to a Well-Behaved Dog or permission from the instructor

Teach your dog to follow a human laid track by refining your dog's natural ability to find and follow a scent trail.  Tracking is a rewarding activity and great for tiring out your dog both mentally and physically.
