Confident Puppy
This 5-week class will teach you the four puppy priorities that will have the biggest positive impact on your puppy’s future behaviour so that you can structure your limited time to do the tasks that are crucial to getting you lasting results.
In our Confident Puppy class, you will learn how how to:
Manage puppy biting, mouthing, and chewing
Prevent counter surfing
Teach your puppy how to greet people politely
Build confidence around novelty
Build disengagement from dogs, bikes, people, moving vehicles and focus on you
My Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppy “Taco” and I enrolled in “Proud of my Dog – Confident Puppy” course. It was the best foundational puppy training that gave us both valuable training information and created a desire in my puppy to constantly learn. Everything from focus, to tips on tricks, recall, safety, grooming, calm behavior, environment, puppy space set up, treat recipes and much more were given during an on-line live Zoom classes.
Taco is now 8 months and we still practice the basics Heather taught us to continuously strengthen her learning.
The most important learning was how to have Taco focus because that is the underlying building block for all training. Learning the difference between management of puppy behaviors and training/interaction opportunities was the best learning. There were so many strategies provided and all were and continue to be valuable.
I appreciated the live Zoom classes with immediate feedback for all of us attending. We were able to learn from each other, even if we were not in-person. I also loved that the classes were recorded and that I had access for a year so I could go back and review any class! Amazing! I can’t say enough about this class and would recommend that you should not hesitate to register! Enjoy your training!

The class was great. Willow makes more eye contact with me, she loved the idea of eating in the bath tub, she follows me off leash right away outside and is ready to play ‘come’ but still loves to run around the yard.
She comes more often when called, she is no longer afraid of her 2 dog pals (that only lasted their first 2 times they got together, by the third time she was very excited to play), and she is showing good signs of puppy play. The video on 'Good Signs of Puppy Play' was helpful and made me feel better about her social skills with other dogs.
Willow is getting better with me touching the back of her neck, she doesn’t balk putting the leash on the collar and we are still working on the harness.
We are still working on the demand barking. It’s going to be a slow process. Thank you for all your help. The classes were very helpful and engaging.

Each session stands on its own so you can start any time
1) The first part of each class will address the four priorities for your puppy so you can have the biggest positive impact on your puppy’s future behaviour and your future sanity!
2) The second part of each class will focus on training games so that you and your puppy can have fun building great foundation skills for future obedience behaviours.
3) The third part of each class will cover topics that most puppy parents encounter anytime from the moment you bring your puppy home to 18 months of age so that you don’t have to waste time surfing the internet for solutions.
4) The last portion of each class will cover enrichment; exploration, play, and lots of other mentally challenging activities so that you can have a calmer and more relaxed puppy.
Heather’s Confident Puppy classes were invaluable. She covered all puppy issues! Heather was great at providing feedback on specific problem areas as well. She followed up with resources and helpful tips.
I think what was evident was how passionate Heather is about raising a happy healthy pup. She prioritized what was most important and kept us grounded on this. Her zoom sessions were well organized, she checked in with everyone at the start and was available for support following as well.
The sessions were a good mix of virtual face to face, videos and practice. I think the most important thing I learned was to be positive and patient… to use positive reinforcement … treats and praise… to create positive experiences.
I am now able to bathe, groom and nail trim my pup. I may have given up on the nail trimming without Heather’s support and resources. Thank-you Heather! Forrest is a happy healthy pup!
